Healing - part one
Welcome to tonight's show. I want to talk about something that has been on my heart for quite sometime. 6 years ago my mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. For 4 1/2 years we watched her suffer. The ups and downs were tremendous. She would undergo chemo and then have 6 months to a year of what seemed to be freedom and then she would start all over again.
I have never seen anyone with more determination to live and conquer this thing. Two years ago on June 19th my mother passed away. I remember crying out to the Lord, "There must be an answer to cancer." For two years now I have asked the Lord, "What is it? Why is this disease plaguing our nation? "It seems that people are ill at every turn. Several months ago, I felt as though the Spirit of the Lord moved in my heart and asked me to begin a prayer watch for people with cancer and sickness unto death.
Two weeks ago at the Prayer Center in Council Bluffs I did just that. We are lifting up the names of people we are given for four hours every Thursday morning. I believe that God is ready to break through with healing, signs and wonders upon our nation. But it takes people who say enough is enough and begins to pray and seek the face of God in order to bring this visitation of the Lord upon our earth.
I have personally felt from the Lord that the next wave in our own ministry is going to be signs, wonders and miracles. The Lord gave me a visual picture or we could call it a vision - I see much in pictures and God speaks to me through them - I saw stadiums filled with people.
I saw the light of God's presence come down center stage. As the light appeared, people got out of their wheel chairs, crutches were thrown on the floor, and people were healed under the power of this mighty visitation. I saw a woman doing dishes in her kitchen and the presence of God filled the room, she followed the presence into the stadium, came up front and gave her heart to Jesus.
I believe this is what we are going to see in the days ahead in our nation - great revivals of healing and millions of souls coming to Jesus. How do I know this? Let's look at Jesus' life in scripture. We are to look to Jesus as our example.
In fact, Jesus says to us in John 14: 12, 13, "verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do because I go unto My Father, and whatsoever you ask the Father in My name that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the son."
In other words, we are to do them by asking him to do them. He did not say "less works," but "the works" and "greater works." To me, this promise from the lips of Christ is a complete answer to healing.
Look with me tonight at Matt. 8....
When Jesus came down from the mountain. From place of prayer to place of prayer - in between, Jesus did miracles.
Prayer is definitely the key element in the visitation of signs and wonders and healings. I believe that the prayer movement that is currently being raised up will be the catalyst to put this all in place. Now look at what Jesus did. Remember that he said greater things we would do in His name and that we were to ask.
1. (Verse 3) Jesus said "I AM WILLING!" I want you to know tonight that Jesus is willing to heal you. It is His desire to bring healing to our nation. In Is. 53 it says that He carried our griefs - sickness, weaknesses, and stresses and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities and by the stripes that wounded Him we are healed and made whole.
Notice that he came and personally asked Jesus. We see Jesus touched him and immediately he was made whole.
2. (Verse 7) Jesus said "I WILL COME!" Jesus says to the centurion, who came on behalf of the servant boy.
I will come. And restore him. Here, the faith of this man is so great in just the word of Jesus that he says only speak the word, and my servant boy will be cured. The centurion knew the authority of Christ. He knew that just His spoken word was enough to bring healing to this small boy.
Ps. 107:20 "He sendeth His word and healeth them and delivereth them from their graves"
Prov. 4:22 "The word of God which effectually worketh in them that believe, and is health to all their flesh."
Here we see that the centurion came on behalf of the sick. The young man was healed at that very moment and Jesus did not even touch him. He spoke the word.
3. (verse 14) "HE SEES" Jesus saw the need and touched her. Immediately she was healed and began waiting on Him.
Jesus sees your need tonight. He sees the pain you are carrying in your body. He hears the cries of your heart for that one who is suffering. I don't understand why everyone is not healed instantly; however, sometimes healings are instant and sometimes they are gradual but I do know that God wants us to continue to believe for healing and to continue to ask.
God is sovereign. We just continue to come and to ask. The outcome is always His and our responsibility is to believe and trust Him for it. My mother's death has made me more then ever want to see cancer patients healed. I believe in the days ahead we will be seeing miraculous things that will turn the eyes of the unbeliever and they will say, I want your God. He is powerful, alive and working today.
In my newsletter this month, I shared that we were beginning a worship healing watch and that people were to send their requests. I cannot tell you how my heart ached as I received so many requests from people whose families are falling apart due to sickness, disease and addiction.
We will be worshiping God for the victory in healing every Monday from 8:00 - 5:00 pm at the Omaha HUB. Check out our page www.theOmahaHUB.com. I am believing that God is going to visit our nation as we press in to the Father on behalf of those we love. Will you join us in prayer for the sick. In fact right now if you are sick in body, I want you to lay your hand on your body and believe God to touch and heal.
